Trim Barber Service Agreement
Ini ialah perjanjian perkhidmatan barber. Pelanggan mempunyai terma sendiri. Kedua-duanya tidak digabung.
Versi ini diterbitkan dalam bahasa Inggeris sahaja. E-mel privacy@trim.my jika anda mahu apa-apa di dalamnya diterangkan dalam Bahasa Melayu.
Parties
This agreement is between CATALYST Design Sdn Bhd (SSM 1455613-U), trading as Trim, and you. Trim is the platform provider. You are a gig worker who takes home haircut jobs through Trim.
Your status
You are a self-employed gig worker under the Gig Workers Act 2025, not an employee of Trim. You decide whether to accept any job, and you decide the days and hours you make yourself available. Trim sets the price a customer pays and the rate you earn per cut, and requires the safety training and check-in steps described below. Nothing in this clause reduces any right the Act gives you.
Period
This agreement starts when you accept it and continues until you or Trim ends it. You may stop working through Trim at any time, for any reason, with no notice period and no penalty. Trim may only end it under the deactivation clauses below.
Services
Home haircut jobs offered through Trim's dispatch cascade in the areas Trim currently serves. Trim does not promise you a minimum number of jobs, a minimum income, or work in any particular zone.
How jobs are offered
When a customer books, the job goes out in a set order. If a customer cancelled and rebooked without naming a barber, the barber who had the cancelled visit gets first look if they are free at the new time. After that it goes to the in-zone barber with the fewest jobs that day and a free slot, who has 10 minutes to accept, then to the next lightest in-zone barbers, then to adjacent zones, then to the open board. If it is still unclaimed, Ops places it by hand. Trim publishes this order and follows it.
Declining and releasing
Declining a job never counts against you, never lowers your position in the cascade, and never affects your Standing. You may release a job you have already accepted back into the cascade without penalty up to 4 hours before the visit. Releasing later than that, or not turning up, may be looked at as conduct.
Your obligations
Complete the jobs you accept, arrive within the agreed window, check in and check out in the app, follow the safety procedures you were trained on, keep your PERKESO registration current, keep your tools clean and in safe condition, and treat customers and everyone in their home with respect.
Safety
Trim owes you a duty under the occupational safety provisions of the Act and keeps a written risk assessment you can read in the app at any time. You must use the check-in and check-out steps, report incidents through the app, and use the panic button if you feel unsafe. You may leave any visit immediately, without asking permission, if you reasonably believe you are unsafe, and you will still be paid in full for that visit. Trim will never treat leaving an unsafe visit as a decline or as misconduct.
PERKESO
You must be registered under the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (Act 789) before you can take jobs, because the Act requires it. Trim files your contributions as required. Your own contribution is 1.25% of that cut's pay, and never less than RM1. Trim also pays its own contribution of RM1 per completed cut, which is not taken from your pay.
Earnings
Adult cut RM80. Each extra adult on the same visit RM65. Each kid on the same visit RM50. Family plan cuts happen together in one home visit and the rates stack for that single stop. There is no extra travel pay and no distance top-up. If you travel to a visit and nobody is home, you are still paid in full for that cut.
Payout cycle
You are paid every Monday by 09:00 for completed cuts from the prior Monday to Sunday week, which is within 7 days of service completion. Your earnings ledger in the app shows every cut, every deduction, Stripe's transaction fee, and every payout.
Card and transaction fees
When a customer pays Trim, Stripe charges a card processing fee of 3% plus RM1. Trim pays that fee in full. It is not taken from your pay and it is not added to the price the customer sees. When Stripe sends your weekly pay, Stripe charges a transaction fee of 0.25% of the amount sent plus RM1.50, once per payout. You bear that fee. Stripe also charges RM6 in any month a payout is sent to your bank. Trim pays that monthly fee. It is not taken from your pay. The transaction fee is Stripe's charge, not a Trim platform fee and not one of the three deductions the Act allows Trim to take. It shows as its own line on your payout in the app.
Deductions
Trim may only take three things out of your pay, which is the limit the Act sets. Your own PERKESO contribution. Correction of an overpayment Trim made in error in the last 3 months. A deduction the Director General has specifically allowed. Trim will not deduct for customer complaints, cancellations, no-shows, property damage, equipment, uniforms, training, or platform fees. Stripe's transaction fee is not a Trim deduction — Stripe takes it when it sends your pay. If you ever see a Trim deduction outside those three, it is wrong, and you can raise it as a grievance.
Tips
If a customer chooses to tip you, the tip is entirely yours and Trim takes no share of it. Trim does not require or expect customers to tip.
Equipment and costs
You provide and maintain your own clippers, blades and tools. Where Trim gives you kit or supplies, that is a benefit, not a loan and not an advance against your pay.
Ratings
Your rating is the average of your last 20 customer ratings. Below 4.2 triggers a coaching conversation. Below 3.8 may lead to a formal inquiry under the deactivation clauses. A rating on its own is never a reason for deactivation without an inquiry. Declining jobs never changes your rating.
Standing
Standing is separate from your customer rating. Trim does not score you on acceptance rate, hours online, speed per cut, or rating alone. Pausing your availability never lowers your position or your Standing.
Human review
You may ask a named person at Trim to review any rating, any Standing decision, or how jobs were offered to you over a date range. A person, not the system, looks at the underlying data and sends you a written explanation. Asking for a review is never held against you.
Suspension for an inquiry
If Trim needs to investigate something serious it may suspend your account while the inquiry runs. A suspension may last no more than 14 days. It may be extended once, by no more than a further 7 days, and only if Trim tells you in writing that it is being extended and why. There is no other way for Trim to extend it. If the inquiry is not finished within those limits, your suspension ends and your account returns to active.
The inquiry process
Trim will give you a written notice saying what is alleged, what it is based on, and the date by which you may reply. You may reply in writing through the app and include anything you want considered. Trim will consider your reply before deciding and will send you the decision in writing with its reasons. You can read the notice, your reply and the decision in the app at any time.
If you are cleared
If a suspension ends without a finding against you, Trim will pay you compensation for the days you were suspended, calculated as half your average daily earnings across your service days in the previous 30 days. It is paid in the next payout cycle without you having to ask for it.
Deactivation
Trim may deactivate you permanently only after an inquiry under the clauses above, and only for a serious reason. Serious means unsafe conduct, violence or threats, harassment or discrimination, theft, fraud, working under the influence, repeatedly abandoning accepted jobs, or losing a registration the law requires you to hold. Trim will give you the decision and the reason in writing. Low ratings on their own are not a serious reason.
Disputing a deactivation
A deactivation dispute does not go through Trim's internal grievance inbox. Under the Act it goes to the Conciliator, and you may take it there directly. Trim will not require you to exhaust an internal process first, and will give you the records you need for it, including the notice, your reply and the decision.
Grievances
For anything else, you can lodge a grievance in the app. Trim will give you a written outcome within 30 days of you lodging it. If you are not satisfied with that outcome you may take the matter to the Conciliator.
Insurance and liability
Your PERKESO cover under Act 789 covers your own injury. It does not cover your tools, and Trim does not insure your tools. Trim does not hold public liability insurance and does not promise to pay a customer for property damaged during a visit. If a customer says something was damaged, Trim will hear both sides. Trim will not deduct that from your pay and will not treat it as money you owe Trim. The customer may still have a claim of their own, and Trim cannot stop them taking it. If Trim believes damage was deliberate or grossly careless it may raise that as conduct through the inquiry process, but it stays a conduct matter and never becomes a deduction.
Customer data
Customer names, addresses, phone numbers and door notes belong to the customer. You may use a customer's address only to do the job you were assigned. You must not keep it, share it, contact a customer afterwards about anything other than that job, or use it to arrange work outside Trim. This obligation continues after this agreement ends.
Working outside Trim
You may work for other platforms, for salons, or for your own private clients. Trim cannot stop you, will not require you to work only through Trim, and will not treat working elsewhere as a reason for any decision about you. What you must not do is take a Trim customer's details from a Trim job and use them to arrange private work.
Using the app
You may use the Trim app only to take and complete jobs. You must not create more than one account, copy or scrape data out of the app, reverse-engineer it, impersonate anyone, or use it to send malware or harm our systems.
The app and your content
We own the Trim app, our name, and the way the service works. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the app to take jobs. Photographs you upload after a visit, photographs from your application, and anything you write in the app stay yours. You give us a licence to store them, show them back to you, use them to run the service, look into a complaint or a safety issue, and remove them if they break this agreement. We will not use your photos, your name, or your likeness in advertising without asking you first.
Chat
Messages in the app about a job are only for that job. Do not send obscene or harassing messages, do not share phone numbers or home addresses in chat, and do not use chat to arrange work outside Trim. Trim may read those messages when looking into a grievance, a complaint, or an incident. Breaking these rules can be treated as conduct.
Notices
Trim gives notice under this agreement in the app and by email to the address on your account. A notice is treated as received the next day after we send it.
Changes to this agreement
Trim may publish a new version. If it does, Trim will tell you and ask you to accept it in the app, and your acceptance is stored with the version number and a timestamp. If you do not want to accept a new version you may stop working through Trim, and anything you have already earned is still paid to you in the normal cycle.
Your personal data
Trim handles your personal data as described in the Trim Privacy Notice, which is available in the app. It covers your IC or passport details, your bank payout details, your PERKESO registration data, and your location while you are on an assigned job.
No waiver of Act rights
Nothing in this agreement reduces your rights under the Gig Workers Act 2025. If anything here conflicts with the Act, the Act wins, and the rest of this agreement still applies.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Malaysia. Nothing in it stops you going to the Conciliator, to the Gig Workers Tribunal, to a regulator, or to court where you are entitled to.
